5 most common mistakes when buying your first vaporizer

vape mistakes

Do you want to start vaping but the whole ordeal seems confusing to you? Don’t worry – we’ve all been through it at some point! We can’t guarantee that you won’t make any mistakes during your vaping journey, but by learning about some of the most common ones, you will be able to avoid at least some of them.

Skipping research

E-juices, box mods, sub-ohm tanks, nicotine levels, Salt Nics – it’s very likely that at the beginning, you won’t know much about these concepts and it’s perfectly okay. The vaping world seems confusing at first, so it’s only reasonable to try to learn as much as you can before you delve any further. So before you venture to a vape store – whether online or offline – to buy your initial vape kit, it’s best to do at least some basic research. Read some reviews, watch tutorials and learn vaping tips and you’ll be more comfortable when making decisions about your first vape kit.

Choosing the wrong device

Of course, one of the main mistakes on our list is picking the wrong type of device. Manufacturers offer hundreds of different models, so it is no surprise that many beginners are confused and choose products that don’t suit them at all. Usually, they pick something too advanced like Box Mods instead of simpler types of vapes. Users who are just starting their vaping experience should focus first on selecting starter devices that don’t require much attention and upkeep. It’s easier to start simple and then continue to more advanced models. Beginners’ kits are really affordable, discreet, easy to use, and they charge rather swiftly. Refilling pod mods is really uncomplicated, and the coils are built-in, so you won’t need to prime them. When you become more familiar with your vaping preferences, you can choose to upgrade your device to something more powerful. You will know more about the performance of vape kits, and with time, you may even try to modify your devices to your needs.

Forgetting to prime

If you choose any of the simpler devices, you won’t have this problem. But if you decided on a vape mod with assembled coils, you need to remember to prime before you vape. If you don’t, you will get a very dry hit at best, or you can even burn the coil at worst. That is why you should remember to prime the cotton. What does that mean? You can either fill up the tank and wait several minutes, or you can fully saturate the cotton in the e-liquid. That action will protect your device and allow you to avoid nasty dry hits.

Buying too much stuff

In the beginning, you may feel over-excited and decide that you should buy everything in your reach to be prepared. Don’t! There is really no need to purchase 20 different e-liquids, 3 models of vape devices, and numerous replacement coils and backup batteries. Go slowly, and with time, you will figure out what you actually will use. When you’re starting, all you really need is a proper vape tank. It’s good to try beginners’ kits or something from a medium range. You can see if that kind of device is enough for you, or if you want something more powerful. For that reason, it’s best to wait with purchasing replacement coils, cartridges and batteries. After all, you don’t even know if you will like your current vape kit. When buying vape juices, opt for the smallest bottles so you can try out the flavors, and if they won’t suit you, you won’t waste a lot of product. When you finally find your preferred blends, you can purchase the biggest packages and enjoy them for a long time.

Buying e-liquids with the wrong nicotine strength

As we know, most of the current vapers are ex-smokers who use these devices to help them quit cigarettes for good. So it’s no surprise that a lot of users are still addicted to nicotine and want to consume a similar level of that substance while vaping. The problem is, e-liquids offer a very wide range of nicotine options, and one of the most common mistakes made by beginners is choosing the wrong one. If you go too low or too high, your vaping experience could be wildly unsatisfying. How to make the right choice? You should look at how many cigarettes you used to smoke. If you went through a whole pack a day, you can definitely try products with higher concentrations such as Salt Nics. However, if you only smoked two or three times a day, then start way lower with 3 or 6 milligrams of nicotine. See if you managed to choose the right option and if not, go higher or lower so you can find the optimal level of nicotine.
