Can you take a vape on a plane?

Vape on plane

It is no secret that most of the vapers want to be able to take their vape devices wherever they go – to work, for a walk, and even on a plane when they travel domestically or internationally. But are vape pens even allowed on a flight? Let’s find out!

Can you bring your vape devices on a plane?

So, can you take your vaporizers on a plane? In most cases, yes, you can! However, there are some things you need to keep in mind. First of all, e-cigarettes and other electronic nicotine delivery systems are only allowed if you place them in the carry-on baggage or inside your pocket. It’s important to know that vape pods and kits are electronic devices, which means you can’t pack them in the checked bags. This rule applies because vaporizers have batteries, and they pose a risk of catching fire. You should remember that each bag will be x-rayed, and if you place your e-cigarettes in the checked luggage, your devices will be taken out, or the entire bag could be left at the airport. Of course, always make sure to check additional restrictions provided by the airline you travel with, as well as the place of your destination. Unfortunately, there are still countries where vape products are banned, and some of them include Japan, Norway, Brazil, Dubai, and Thailand. Be aware that law can change really quickly, so before any flight, do your research.

What about e-liquids?

Well, e-liquids are still liquids, and they are subjected to the same restrictions. If you want to take your vape juice in your carry-on baggage, you need to pour it into a container that holds a maximum of 100 ml (3.4 ounces). It also needs to fit in a 1-liter, transparent bag for all of your liquids. If you want to bring on board more vape juice, it must be placed in your checked luggage. However, be sure to secure it properly – you will avoid accidental leakages of very fragrant e-liquids on all of your belongings. It is important to remember that standard e-liquids are allowed on a plane, but products with cannabis are usually prohibited so leave those at home. Of course, you can also check if in the place you travel to are some local vape shops where you can later buy your e-liquids.

Additional tips

When flying, it is best to remove the batteries to avoid accidentally turning on the device. Of course, in the case of vape pods with built-in batteries, it won’t be possible. You should also make sure to empty your tank before you go on the plane. Cabin pressure can affect liquids and cause them to leak. Of course, you need to remember that even though vape devices are allowed on a plane, vaping is not, and this action is treated the same way as smoking and will be punished similarly. Airports are also places where you shouldn’t vape. The only exceptions are appropriate external areas designated for smokers or inside smoking lounges.
