Overusing a vape – what can cause it?

If we want to figure out and answer the question, can you overuse a vape, we should look at the ingredient list on the back of e-juices. Usually, they contain a couple of the same substances, such as vegetable glycerine (VG), propylene glycol (PG), natural and/or artificial flavorings, sweeteners, and most of the time, nicotine as well. All of those ingredients are food-grade which means they can be safely consumed by vapers around the world. But that doesn’t mean that they are good for you when ingested in enormous amounts. You may not know it, but some people can actually be allergic to propylene glycol (PG) and others to VG (vegetable glycerine). There are also cases when there is an allergy reaction to some of the flavorings used in e-liquids. Vaping products with allergens, especially in big doses, certainly can cause some adverse effects, but once you find blends free of them, you should be fine.

Vaping too much – what about nicotine?

Of course, nicotine is well known to be the most hazardous ingredient in any vape juice. It’s highly addictive, and because of this, both cigarettes and vaping are so hard to put down. In low doses, it may make you feel more relaxed and even slightly improve your ability to focus. If you’re vaping nicotine-free e-liquids, you should not have to worry about consuming them too much. However, if devoured in large amounts, it may cause some adverse reactions in your body. The most common signs of nicotine poisoning, after vaping too much, include increased heart rate and blood pressure, stomach ache, and a feeling of nausea, leading to vomiting in some cases. You may also experience excess saliva in the mouth, loss of appetite, headache, dizziness, anxiety confusion, and increased sweating.

Signs of vaping too much

Of course, there are several fundamental reactions from your body that will help you notice it’s time to slow down a little and spend some time vape-free. What are the common effects of too much vaping?

  • Dehydration is one of the most common side effects. It may look like experiencing extreme thirst, dry mouth and eyes, headaches, fatigue, sore throat, and even constipation and dark urine.
  • Vapers tongue is related to dehydration, and it often occurs when a person vapes too much. It results in a dulling sensitivity of the taste buds. If you can’t experience the flavors of your e-juices, or suddenly your favorite blends become unpleasant, then it’s probably a vaper’s tongue. Luckily, it is a reversible condition.

Did I vape too much?

How much is too much? Can you overuse a vape quickly? That, of course, depends on every person. Everyone will have different tolerance to nicotine, which will be influenced by their age, sex, and even weight. Of course, previous experiences with nicotine will also have a pretty significant impact. If you’ve been an avid smoker for years, then you are much more used to high levels of this substance. And if you’re just starting out and vaping is your first contact with nicotine, you will be more susceptible to adverse reactions. Remember to observe your body closely and stop vaping if you start to notice something off.
